A bit of information of Wraith sexuality (Warnings for mentions of rape):

There are few taboos about sex among Wraith: One never forces himself on a Queen, and one never beds or breeds with a human (This applies to any other species as well).

So, on that note, Wraith are a genetic experiment that went sideways. The First Mothers were essentially sexually harassed by Alteran guards daily. They were imprisoned, starved, and the Alterans were planning on killing them. The First Mothers and their men did eventually get away from their prison and managed to dodge the Alterans until they were a force to be reckoned with.

Wraith society is matriarchal, with the Queens having many mates. They choose among their men those that they feel will breed strong children. They have several men that they choose to run the Hive as something of a counsel. Within this council, there are several favorites, and a consort. Among these men there is usually a commander, a hivemaster, and the heads of the sciences.

The queen will breed according to what kind of child she needs, a blade(warrior), a cleverman(scientist), a queen, or even a story teller. The drones are created through a process that limits their higher brain functions and then cloned. They can and do use genetic a bit of engineering to choose these traits. A Wraith queen may even take a few concubines to bed when she feels like a change from her consort, or if she has no consort.

Wraith do not breed indiscriminately, and as such not every male has a chance to ever mate with a female. Homosexual relationships are not uncommon among the males. There are no taboos about this. There are instances of rape among the blades, especially stronger against the weaker. However, this kind of behavior towards a Queen would never be tolerated, ever.

To reiterate- Wraith do not mate with humans! Even genetic experiments involving wraith DNA and humans are highly frowned upon. They find this kind of mixing detestable enough to even execute those that try them.
